Materials Needed

For each player (2 players total):

  • Sheet 1: Path Sheet – A line or path filled with coloured circles (red, yellow, blue) from start to finish.
  • Sheet 2: Action Sheet – A simple legend showing which action to do for each colour. (Each player’s colour–action mapping is different.)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Pair Up! Child plays with a parent, sibling, or friend.
2 Distribute Materials: Each player gets 1 Path Sheet with a sequence of coloured circles and 1 Action Sheet showing what to do for each colour. Explain that each player has different actions for the same colours.
3 Explain the Rules: Players move their index finger along the path, placing it on each coloured circle one by one. At the same time, they use their other hand to perform the action assigned to that colour. Both players move together, watching each other’s actions.
4 Start the Beat!: Begin at the “Start” circle. Say the colour out loud and place one finger on the coloured circle. Do the matching action with the other hand.
5 Move to the Next Circle: Repeat the same process for each new circle along the path until you reach the end.
6 Finish Line Fun: End with a cheer, a dance, or a “high-five”! Encourage players to enjoy the rhythm and celebrate completing the colour path.
