Step-by-Step Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Set Up the Chart:
Spread the phonics chart on the floor or table where both you and the child can comfortably check it.
2 Introduce the Letters and Sounds:
Point to a letter on the chart and clearly say its name. Next, point to the picture next to the letter and say the word together, emphasizing the beginning sound.
3 Engage with QR Codes:
Help the child scan the QR codes on the chart using a mobile phone to listen to the correct phonic sound for each letter.
4 Reinforce Learning:
Ask questions like: • "What sound does the letter 'A' make?"
• "Can you find the picture that starts with the 'B' sound?"
Encourage the child to repeat the sounds and words aloud.
5 Make it Fun:
Add excitement, act out the pictures together. For example, pretend to be an animal from the picture or mimic an object's movement, making learning more interactive.
6 Continue Exploring:
Work through the entire chart, pointing to each letter, repeating the sounds, and associating them with the corresponding pictures.
7 Positive Reinforcement:
Praise the child frequently for their efforts and progress. Positive feedback builds their confidence and keeps them motivated.
8 Variations to Keep it Engaging:
• Speed Rounds: Challenge the child to quickly identify letters and say the corresponding sounds and words.
• Letter Hunt: Ask the child to find specific letters on the chart and name both the letter and the sound it makes.
9 Display the Chart:
The phonics quest chart includes a round pin, making it easy to hang on a wall for regular reference, allowing the child to revisit it anytime.
